Roscoe Gibb

Mr. Gibb dedicated over 55 years of volunteer service with Alberta's credit unions. He helped start and became a charter member of the Picture Butte Sugar Makers Credit Union from 1939 to 1948 and was a charter member of the Taber Sugar Makers Credit Union from 1949 to 1968. In 1980 he became a director of Southland Credit Union.

Mr. Gibb was a director of Credit Union Central Alberta beginning in 1952, holding a number of positions on the Executive Committee including secretary, vice president, president and chairman of the Legal and Legislative Committee. He held director appointments to the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and Canadian Districts beginning in 1956. He was also provisional chairman of the National Association of Canadian Credit Unions (NACCU) Founding Committee, predecessor to Canadian Co-operative Credit Society -- known today as Credit Union Central of Canada.

He retired from active credit union involvement on February 15, 1996 at 89 years of age.
