Nominated by Credit Union Central of Saskatchewan (CUCS) and Saskatoon Credit Union

A former refinery worker and long-time farmer in the province of Saskatchewan, Elwood Harvey spent most of his career promoting and enriching the credit union system. He has also been active in the co-operative movement. In addition to being President of CUCS for five years, Elwood has been a Board member of Credit Union Central of Canada (Canadian Central) for four years, of CUMIS for eight, and of the Saskatoon Credit Union for fifteen. He has devoted many years to committee work at the Canadian Co-operative Association and the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Elwood was awarded the Queen’s 50th Anniversary Medal for community leadership in 2002.
