The summary report on the 2009 Issues Forum held at the Canadian Conference for Credit Union Executives in Halifax is now posted onlne.

The Issues Forum on May 6 consisted of a panel discussion on the topic of Where is the Financial Services Industry Headed in Canada? followed by a discussion of five questions related to this topic by participants at the conference. 

The panel included Garth Melle, Chief Executive Officer of Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Saskatchewan, Daniel Burns, Director of Credit Union Central of Canada and Director of Central 1 Credit Union; Janet Grantham, CEO of Sydenham Community Credit Union in Ontario; John Lahey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Alterna Savings and Credit Union in Ontario; and Alberta (Bobbie) McNutt, Chairperson of Credit Union Central of New Brunswick.  David Phillips, President and Chief Executive Officer of Credit Union Central of Canada moderated the discussion.

The panel members discussed their views on the five questions that were then opened for comment by the participants at the session. More than 40 tables discussed the issues and provided written comments in response to each of the questions.
