Online Education Solution Established to Facilitate Learning Opportunities, Automate Registration and Enhance Access to Course Content

TORONTO, Canada and MOUNTAIN VIEW, - CA. - January 9, 2003 /CNW/ – Docent, Inc. (NASDAQ: DCNT), the premier provider of business performance management solutions for Global 2000 companies, and Credit Union Institute of Canada (CUIC) today announced that CUIC has chosen the Docent® Enterprise suite as its electronic learning infrastructure for a new national learning organization that will serve the Canadian credit union system.

The new training arm will provide Web-based access to knowledge and information for 20,000 individuals employed by over 650 credit unions and the credit union strategic partners across Canada. By enhancing learning opportunities through the new learning organization, CUIC will help credit union employees, spread across nine provinces in Canada, maintain their competitive advantage in face-to-face relationships with more than 4.5 million members. The new national learning organization is planned to become operational in early 2003, when a new name and branding will be announced.

When fully implemented, the new learning organization—powered by the Docent Learning Management Server (LMS) module—will provide credit union staff members with a personalized portal, which will deliver online access to courses, competitive intelligence, regulatory compliance guidelines, risk assessment tools, product information, and coaching resources. Real time Web-based meetings and virtual classroom sessions will be enabled through the powerful Docent Live!™ module. In addition, the Docent Learning Content Management System (LCMS) module will create, manage, and deliver customized online content for self-paced learning from multiple sources within the credit union system.

“One of the biggest challenges for credit unions today is to effectively and cost-efficiently provide staff with the knowledge necessary to deliver exceptional member service,” said Cheryl
