Mennonite Savings & Credit Union, ON
Benjamin Janzen is the Stewardship-in-Action Advisor at Mennonite Savings
and Credit Union, Canada’s largest faith-based credit union. Under his
leadership, the Stewardship-in-Action program seeks to advance peace, social
justice and mutual aid in communities. Benjamin applies a diverse skill set
to his work, developed through professional experience in classical music,
teaching and camping ministry. He is passionate about the impact that credit
unions can have on building vibrant communities.
Business Relationship Manager
Affinity Credit Union, SK
Kris Babbings started his credit
union career in 2005 as an agricultural and commercial account manager with
Affinity Credit Union in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, Canada. He joined Advantage
Credit Union in 2011, where he oversees several rural Saskatchewan branches.
He is responsible for providing leadership to team members to foster a
member-centric culture, while achieving organizational goals. Babbings holds
degrees in both marketing and business administration from the Saskatchewan
Institute of Applied Science and Technology. As a member of the Saskatchewan
Young Leaders Committee, he focuses on the development and empowerment of
youth in and for the credit union system.
Manager, Communications and Public Relations
First West Credit Union, BC
Brian Bevilacqua is Manager, Communications and Public Relations at First
West Credit Union, one of Canada’s largest co-operative financial
institutions with $7.1 billion in assets and nearly 1,300 employees. He
leads the internal corporate communication team and supports the senior
executive team. He holds degrees in history and in biology/chemistry from
Trinity Western University, Langley, British Columbia (B.C.). Bevilacqua
previously served as media and communications liaison with human rights
agency International Justice Mission in its Mumbai, India office.
Additionally, he serves on the community council for the Salvation Army’s
Gateway of Hope homeless shelter in Langley, B.C.
Bayview Credit Union, NB
In her eight years with Bayview Credit Union, Cheryl McCormack applied
herself in a variety of roles to advance her knowledge and skills. She
prepared and conducted training sessions, presentations and manuals for
coworkers while simultaneously working through numerous courses and
continuing education on her own. In 2012 she achieved her goal of becoming
a branch manager. Before accepting a management position, McCormack designed
and implemented a weekly coaching program to encourage staff to share their
successes. She embraced this leadership role by her commitment to life-long
learning and her dedication to the credit union and community.
Corporate Trainer, Leadership Development & Change Leadership
Servus Credit Union, AB
In his 14 years with Servus Credit Union, Devin Selte has held a variety of
positions, focusing on leadership development and change leadership. In
2011, Devin was honoured as Credit Union Executive Society’s Next Top Credit
Union Executive and was named one of Credit Union Times’ 40 Below
Trailblazers for his creation of the Servus Young Leaders Network. He has
collaborated with several credit unions to help launch young leader
development programs and is currently a member of a steering committee
creating an Alberta Young Leader development program for the Alberta credit
union system. Devin is also a co-author of the 2CUGuys blog.
