Spectra and Northern Savings on top 50 list
January 14, 2009
Spectra Credit Union of Estevan, SK, and Northern Savings Credit Union of Prince Rupert, B.C., have made the list of 50 Best Small and Medium Employers in Canada.
The credit unions were selected in the fifth annual survey by Queen’s Centre for Business Venturing at Queen’s School of Business and Hewitt Associates, a global human resources services company, in partnership with The Globe and Mail.
The rankings are determined on the basis of surveys of employee engagement and effective human resource practices.
Employees in the winning organizations give high marks to their employer’s ability to recruit and hire people who are able to fit in smoothly, as well as their support for employee development and efforts to acknowledge staff input and reward their contributions to success.
Recently, Envision Financial and Conexus made the list of 50 Best Employers in Canada, which is for larger organizations. The list is also compiled by Queen's University.
