The launch of tax-free savings accounts (TFSAs) has led to some positive comments about the ease of dealing with credit unions.
Jonathan Chevreau of the Financial Post has written a number of articles on TFSAs in recent days and he has posted some of the information on his popular blog – the Wealthy Boomer.
The TFSA stories have attracted a lot of comments from across the country, many from people complaining that they were unable to open an account with their bank, or that the process was difficult and time consuming.
But two comments from credit union staff and members pointed out that credit unions have been ready for the launch and are offering excellent rates. “Is there a pattern here?” Chevreau asks.
